Tu Vi Dau So ("Purple Star Astrology") is a traditional East Asian astrology system widely used in Vietnam. Unlike Western astrology, which tracks real planetary positions, it places symbolic "stars" into a 12-palace chart based on your lunar birth date and hour, using fixed placement rules.
The 12 palaces represent life domains: Life Palace (overall personality and fate), Career, Wealth, Marriage, Health, Travel, and others arranged around a wheel matching the 12 Earthly Branches.
Fourteen major stars (Tu Vi, Thien Co, Thai Duong, Vu Khuc, and others) plus dozens of minor stars are placed into these palaces following fixed rules tied to your birth hour, day, month and year. The specific combination of stars in each palace, called a "cach cuc," is what a reading interprets.
Because the chart depends on an accurate lunar conversion, including the traditional 12 two-hour blocks, even a one-day error (common around leap months) can shift the entire chart. A reliable tool must use a verified lunar-solar conversion algorithm rather than an approximation.
Tu Vi Dau So is best treated as cultural heritage and a tool for self-reflection, not a scientific prediction of the future.
