What is Xi Shen?

What does Xi Shen mean in chart interpretation?
When Xi Shen appears in the birth chart, it is often interpreted as the native having more opportunities for good luck, happy events, an optimistic spirit, smooth communication, and help from benefactors. If Xi Shen appears in the luck cycle (major or annual), it may indicate a period of good news regarding family, relationships, or career. However, this meaning is relative and depends on the entire chart and the balance of the Five Elements; it should not be considered the sole decisive factor.
Distinguishing Xi Shen from similar concepts
Xi Shen is often confused with "Favorable Useful God" (the useful god that brings joy) or with other auspicious stars such as Tian Yin or Zheng Yin. In fact, Xi Shen is an independent symbolic star, while Favorable Useful God is a concept referring to the element beneficial to the chart.
