Career
Early Life and Education
In 1989, at the age of 20, Quyen Linh enrolled in the acting department at the School of Performing Arts 2 (now the Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema). During his student years, he faced many hardships, taking on various manual labor jobs to cover tuition and living expenses. He once recalled this period as "hungry but still having to look fresh in photos."
Acting Debut
In 1992, Quyen Linh won four awards at the "Promising Film Actor" contest organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Film Association. Shortly after, he was invited to appear in the film "Khat Vong Song" directed by Nguyen Dat Hai. However, opportunities for paid acting roles remained scarce, and he even left Saigon to return to his hometown for farming. In 1993, he took on a cross-dressing role in the film "Thoi Dai Dan Ba Con Gai" by director Dinh Duc Liem, as no one else accepted the part.
Breakthrough in Acting
In 1995, Quyen Linh made a strong impression with his role as Lam in the film "Nguoi Ha Noi." From then on, his acting career progressed smoothly with notable roles in films such as "Dong Tien Xuong Mau," "Nhung Neo Duong Phu Sa," and "Giao Thoi."
Transition to Hosting
In 2004, Quyen Linh began working as a television host (MC). Initially, he considered quitting after the program "Nhip Song Soi Dong" did not achieve the expected success. However, the overwhelming success of the program "Vuot Len Chinh Minh" afterward led him to largely stop acting and focus on hosting.
Personal Life
In 2005, at age 36, Quyen Linh married Da Thao, a businesswoman in the fashion industry. He is regarded as an artist dedicated to his family. Approaching his 50s, he enjoys a happy family and a stable career, loved for his friendliness, approachability, and contributions to the community.
