Who are you most like?
Enter your name and date of birth to see what you share with three well-known Vietnamese people: zodiac animal, stem-branch year, Na Yin element, star sign, Life Path Number and the three name numbers. Each comes with a level, few, some or many points in common, and how many pairs of strangers it takes to find one pair sharing as much.
Where this comes from
A game of counting matches: the machine compares seven points computed from the birth date and full name with each celebrity profile, counts only exact matches, then multiplies the rarity of the matches into "1 in N". Celebrities' birth dates come from public sources listed on each profile.

How does "Who are you like?" match you with a famous person?
You enter your full name and date of birth. The tool compares seven points of yours with each person on the list of famous people: the zodiac animal, Na Yin element, star sign and Life Path Number come from the birth date; the Expression, Soul Urge and Personality Numbers come from the name. Only points that are the SAME count. Two numbers one or two apart do not make two people any closer.
Each shared point carries its own rarity: the same zodiac animal is 1 in 12, the same Na Yin element 1 in 30, the same star sign about 1 in 12. The Life Path Number follows its share of all days from 1900 to 2029, so a 9 turns up more often than a 2. The three name numbers follow their share on the list itself. Multiplying the points gives "1 in N": roughly one pair of strangers in N would share all of those points. Whoever shares the rarer combination comes first.
Points that depend on each other count once. The same stem-branch year always means the same zodiac animal and the same Na Yin element, so it counts as 1 in 60, not 1 in 12 times 1 in 30. The same birthday already means the same star sign. The Expression Number is the sum of the Soul Urge and Personality Numbers, so sharing all three name numbers multiplies only two factors.
There are three levels. Few means more common than 1 in 300, usually one or two everyday points. Some runs from 1 in 300 to 1 in 3,000. Many is 1 in 3,000 or rarer. The list has over a hundred people, so the person at the top usually shares about 1 in 1,000 with you by chance alone: the more people you compare with, the surer you are to meet someone with a lot in common.
The three name numbers change with spelling. Keeping or dropping a middle name, or using a birth name instead of a familiar one, gives different numbers, and so possibly a different match. For famous people, the name recorded in their profile is used, without any part in brackets such as a stage name. Vietnamese diacritics make no difference, as they are removed before counting.
Famous people's birth dates come from public sources such as newspapers and published books, listed in each profile. Where sources disagree, the profile says so. People are added to the list over time, so the same name and birth date may bring up someone else on a later visit.
| Point compared | Worked out from | Two strangers share it |
|---|---|---|
| Zodiac animal | Lunar year of the birth date | 1 in 12 |
| Na Yin element | Stem and branch of the lunar year | 1 in 30 |
| Stem-branch year, in place of the two rows above | Lunar year | 1 in 60 |
| Star sign | Solar day and month of birth | About 1 in 12, by the number of days in the sign |
| Birthday, in place of the star sign | Day and month of birth | 1 in 365 |
| Life Path Number | Day, month and year of birth | 1 in 9 for 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9; 1 in 31 for 2 |
| Expression, Soul Urge and Personality Numbers | Full name | By their share on the list; all three count as two |
Frequently asked questions
What does "Who are you like?" compare?
Seven points: the zodiac animal, Na Yin element, star sign and Life Path Number from the birth date, and the Expression, Soul Urge and Personality Numbers from the name. That is why you need to enter both your full name and your birth date.
What does "1 in 700" mean?
Roughly one pair of strangers in 700 would share every point listed. It is worked out by multiplying the rarity of each shared point, with points that depend on each other counted once.
Why is there no longer a similarity percentage?
The old version turned the total gap across four numbers into a percentage. Those numbers mostly lie between 1 and 9, so the top match always came out at 96 to 99% even when only one number was shared. The page now shows only the points actually shared and how rare they are.
Why does changing how I write my name change the match?
Three of the seven points come from the letters of your name. Adding or dropping a middle name changes the letter total, so the numbers and the person you share most with change with it.
Which year is the zodiac animal taken from?
From the lunar year of the birth date, applied the same way to you and to the famous people. Someone born in January or February before Tết belongs to the previous year's animal.
Where do the famous people's birth dates come from?
From public sources such as newspapers and published books, listed in each person's profile in the Famous People section. Where sources disagree, the profile notes it.
Which Life Path Number is the rarest?
The 2, at about 1 day in 31, because any total of 11 is kept as the master number 11 instead of being reduced to 2. The 22 and 33 likewise take a share from the 4 and the 6. The numbers 1, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9 each come up about 1 day in 9.
If I share a lot with a famous entrepreneur, will I be as successful?
There is no basis for that. A shared point only means something in the birth dates or the letter totals is the same. No study has shown that zodiac animals, star signs or numerology numbers can predict anyone's character or career.
