Biography
Lê Công Vinh was born on 10 December 1985 in Quỳnh Đôi commune (now part of Quỳnh Lưu district), Nghệ An province. He is regarded as one of the finest forwards in the history of Vietnamese football, associated with the nickname "CV9". He belongs to the generation of Vietnamese players who came of age during the period when the country's football began reintegrating with the regional and continental stage, as domestic leagues gradually professionalised and the national team had more frequent opportunities to test itself against strong opponents.

He also wore the shirt of Hà Nội ACB, returned to Sông Lam Nghệ An, and ended his career at Becamex Bình Dương (2015–2016), where he won the 2015 V.League title before retiring. After retiring, Công Vinh took part in coaching work, football commentary and, together with his wife, carried out many charitable activities, notably the relief campaign for people in the central region affected by floods in 2020. These activities show his direction after his playing career, moving from the role of player to work related to football and community activity.
