What's new at Nhật Nguyệt: prayer texts, reminders that open the right prayer, app 1.0.4

The Nhật Nguyệt prayer texts page

In October 2026 Nhật Nguyệt has three new things: prayer texts for every rite, anniversary reminders that open the right prayer, and app version 1.0.4. This post records each one, its launch date and where to try it. Every new feature from now on will get a post like this.

Prayer texts (13 October 2026)

Full Vietnamese prayer texts for each rite: death anniversaries, Tết, full moons, moving house, shop openings and many more, with offerings, steps and how regions differ. At launch there were 150 rites and more than 400 texts, each on its own page. Fill in names and an address, then print or read from your device; those words stay on your device. The pages come in three languages; the prayer itself stays in Vietnamese, and the English and Chinese pages add a summary so readers know what they are saying.

Reminders that open the prayer, and calendar and reminders linked both ways

An anniversary reminder now leads to the right prayer text: first anniversary, last mourning anniversary or a regular one, depending on the year of death you entered. On the lunar calendar, days with reminders are marked; tap to open the reminder, or tap "Remind me of this day" to create one with the date filled in. The other way round, each reminder has a button to view its day on the calendar.

  • Prayer texts in the Tools tab.
  • Landscape on phones, with layouts for foldables and tablets.
  • Today has shortcuts to tools; search suggests as you type.
  • Group members without a name are asked to add one, so the family knows who is who.
  • Smoother screen transitions and calendar flips.

Readings for children

Personal readings now have a version for children under 16, written for parents: what your child is like, schooling, your child within the family, and five things to do together. The children's version does not make firm claims about career, wealth or school results.

Watches

The watch app for Wear OS and Apple Watch shows the lunar date, the sexagenary day, auspicious hours and your family's upcoming reminders, in three styles: hour ring, calendar page and large text.
