How it differs from the common version

The nôm parallel-prose sacrificial oration opens "Than rằng: Mây che núi Hỗ...", the one making the offering is the eldest son or the eldest grandson "vâng theo lệnh mẫu thân và các chú"; the invocation before the spirit tablet is "Hiển... chân linh"; at the end it respectfully reports to the Thánh Sư, Tiên Sư, and Ngũ tự Gia thần. One text is used for both giỗ đầu and giỗ hết by means of the "(hoặc ...)" options.

The common version: Prayer text for the main day of Giỗ đầu
