Quick answer

Why are there lunar years with no Lập Xuân solar term?

Because the calendar makers of old added 7 leap months to the lunar calendar every 19 years to keep it in step with changes in the weather. Within any 19 years there will be 7 years with no Lập Xuân solar term, 7 years with two Lập Xuân days and 5 years with one. For example, the year Giáp Thìn 2024 had no Lập Xuân solar term because Lập Xuân fell on the 25th day of the twelfth month of the preceding year Quý Mão.
