Quick answerIs Taiyi Shenshu the foremost of the Three Styles?
The Siku Quanshu Zongmu does not rank the three arts; it only calls Taiyi one of the Three Styles. The habit of listing Taiyi first follows the scope of the art, since it targets the fate of the nation, natural disasters and warfare. The preface to the Liu Ren Da Quan instead writes that 'Liu Ren together with Dunjia and Taiyi are called the Three Styles in every age, and Liu Ren has been transmitted the longest.' This is a classification within ancient divination, not a scientific hierarchy.
