Quick answerWhat is the difference between Nguyên Thủ and Trùng Thẩm?
Nguyên Thủ is when exactly one upper course overcomes its lower and no lower overcomes its upper, usually read as a matter starting from the active, superior side. Trùng Thẩm is when a lower course overcomes its upper, taken even if an upper overcomes a lower elsewhere, read as a matter starting from the dependent side. This is a classification by the direction of the overcoming relation, not an absolute judgment of good or bad.
From the article “Lục Nhâm Course Types: What Are Nguyên Thủ, Trùng Thẩm, Tri Nhất, and Thiệp Hại, and How Is a Lục Nhâm Divination Named?”
Knowledge › Eastern › Tam ThứcA Lục Nhâm course type names a chart by the overcoming relations among its four courses. The four base types are Nguyên Thủ, Trùng Thẩm, Tri Nhất, Thiệp Hại.
