Quick answerWhere is Chùa Ngọc Hoàng in Ho Chi Minh City and who founded it?
Chùa Ngọc Hoàng, whose Sino-Vietnamese name is Ngọc Hoàng điện, stands at 73 Mai Thị Lựu Street, Ho Chi Minh City (before July 2025 it belonged to Đa Kao ward, District 1). Tradition says the pagoda was founded by Mr. Lưu Minh, whose dharma name was Lưu Đạo Nguyên, a Chinese man of Guangdong origin who followed the Minh Sư religion; the scholar Vương Hồng Sển holds that construction began in 1905 and was completed in 1906, while others say 1900.
